I'm new to cruffler and I'm sure this question has been answered many times, but I did not see it posted. I just bought an Argentina FN-49 (7x57), but the muzzle brake and bayonette lug have been cut off. The barrel has been nicely recrowned, but I would like to put an original muzzle brake on it. I've seen pictures of one that looks very similar to the old Cutt's compensator. I have a gunsmith that is willing to build one and install it, but he would like to know the dimensions of an original. If anyone has an original muzzle brake; could you please post the dimensions or a drawing of the original? Or.... if anyone knows where I can buy an original??? Thanks for taking the time to read this post. |

Thanks! Tried the internet, but nothing was listed. I might just give them a telephone call next. |

Well, I got it in the mail a couple of days ago. It is a muzzle brake, but not like the ones I've seen in pictures of the 7X57. It's more like the one on the 8x57 or even the FN-FAL rifles. On all the pictures I've seen they look more like the cutts compensator on the Thompson MG. If anyone has more info please post. THANKS. |

They DO make mistakes. I ordered a bolt for a Winchester Model 514, have no idea what I got but was not it. Did order by item nember. I sent them a gif/photo of what I needed and ordered. They sent the correct item, on the second try. |

No I did not. I used Willyboy's info to order. I did not have one of their catalogs. I have since received their catalog, too. It shows exactly what I received, but the catalog does not deferentiate between the different models of the FN-49. Obviously, there is a different muzzle brake for each. It took Willyboy to finally get me to order the GunParts catalog. It is a great reference book. I found a picture of the FN-49 7x57 muzzle brake on the net. I will probably ask GunParts if they have one like it. |
