OK, finally got my c&r but not the promised starter pack from ATF . Also got my first 2 guns ( a luger and a mauser 98) thx Adam. I've heard of this bound book we need to keep but I'm not sure what needs to be put into it . Exactly what info goes into it, do I need to keep the bill of sale somewhere also for ATF inspection. I've also heard I have the choice of an in home inspection or I can bring the book and guns to the ATF , is this true ? It's once a year right? Also after purchasing a firearm do I have to forward anything to the ATF ? Or after disposing of a firearm do I have to send anything to the ATF. |

You officially have 30 days from the day you receive your C&R FFL to get your book into compliance. Brownells and others offer cheapo books (heck; I could bind a note pad with the correct inscribing and sell it for $0.99 for a shrink-wrapped package of 8 bound books at the dollar store.) Having said that, the best package out there is about $34 from RK Enterprises (805) 667-1416. Get the RK Enterprises package; It's worth the money. The people at RK Enterprises are the ultimate gurus of FFLing. Thier package includes the bound book, and many other usefull things. (Back to reloading 12 Ga 00 Buck for some non-C&R fun.)
