Saw pics on another forum of where CAI is marking the import stamps---on the "receiver" to 'mess up' the rest of the markings---bad enough, but they don't even put them on straight---perhaps we should alll let them know it ruins decent 'collectibles' |

got my answer from CAI today-- "we have switched our method of marking surplus rifles--a large part of these are now done on an etching machine--for convenience, these markings are also centered on one location--amount of data required, it's not physically possible to place it on the barrel---I cannot comment on possible collector value--collectability depends on many factors"-- sooo, from now on we will see all import markings(stamped) on the receiver (along with what else they may decide)---let them hear from you, if you are unhappy |

Remeber, Inter-Ordnance once put some really ugly import stamps on when they bought one of those new stamping toys. People complained like heck and they improved their methods somewhat. That's about all they've improved but they more or less quit defacing their products. Maybe Century could do the same? ParallaxBill Milsurpshooter.Net |

Yes, ALL imported arms , to my knowledge have to be marked by the importer. I just bought an M-44 from AIM and it was imported by Numrich, it was in practicly unissued condition. Hope that helps |
